League Rules

League Rules – September 2025

Darts

  1. Teams will consist of 8 players per team
  2. Games will be best of 3 legs 501
  3. Games will be played under PDC. rules
  4. Games will commence no later than 8:30pm
  5. The away team throws first in legs 1,3,5,7, the home team throws first in legs 2,4,6,8
  6. Captains must name their first 4 players before the 8:20pm start deadline, the remaining 4 players must be named no later than 9:20pm
  7. Once the captains have named their teams they cannot be changed unless authorised by both captains
  8. A substitute player can be named but can only play in the event of another player leaving the venue in an emergency situation
  9. The first game should start at 8:30pm, if a player is named to play but is unable to do so due to not being present the opposing team has the right to claim the game 2-0, the following games should start no later than 8:45, 9:00, 9:15, 9:30, 9:45, 10:00 and 10:15 respectively, the above times are not exact times but when games can be claimed due to a player not being present, both teams should at all times try to keep the games flowing
  10. If a team arrives after the 8:30pm start deadline the opposing team have the right to claim the first game 2-0 and at 15 minute intervals as stated in rule 9
  11. Captains at both darts and dominoes should avoid nominating players to play darts and dominoes at the same time if a player is due to play but is already playing the opposite games then teams should move on to the next game
  12. The throwing distance shall be 7ft 9 ¼ inches from the front of the board, the bull shall be 5ft 8 inches high (PDC. rules)
  13. a point will be awarded for each game won a bonus point will be awarded for the most legs won over the 8 games
  14. If legs won is tied than the names of all players from both teams shall be placed in to a hat and one player drawn from each team, the two players shall then play-off for the bonus point one leg of 501, nearest bull to throw first, please note all players who have played in the match must be placed in to the hat not selected players! If a player is drawn who is not present than the bonus point goes to the opposite team
  15. If a team doesn’t have 8 players and therefore cannot complete the 8th than a player can be drawn out from the previous 7 players, but if a player is drawn who has already left than the game is forfeited 2-0
  16. The scoreboard MUST be visible to the players at all times and preferable mounted to the wall at either side of the dart board facing the oche with the scorer being able to stand without being a distraction to the players
  17. Captains MUST NOT write players names on score/result sheet if the player is not in attendance at the time

Dominoes

  1. The team will consist of 5 pairs
  2. Games will be 1 game of fives and threes 61 up
  3. Games will commence no later than 8:30pm
  4. The away team will drop first in games 1, 3, 5, the home team will drop first in games 2 & 4
  5. Points can only be scored by dominoes played
  6. No points can be scored by “chipping first”
  7. A player cannot win the game on their own drop
  8. Captains must name their first 3 pairs before the 8:30pm deadline the last 2 pairs must be named no later than 9:30pm
  9. Once the captains have named their teams they cannot be changed unless authorised by both captains
  10. The first game should start at the 8:30pm deadline the opposing team have the right to claim the game 61-60 and at every twenty minute intervals after that
  11. See darts rule 11
  12. Two points will be awarded for each game won
  13. If a player plays the wrong domino on a purpose and is seen to do so by other players a back peg penalty of 8 points will be awarded against the players, please note the error must be pointed out before the next domino is played otherwise there is no penalty the domino is only in play once the player as released the domino in question if the player realises the error before he releases the domino than no penalty is given if the wrong domino is played and pointed out by an opposing player than that domino is removed from play and is dead and the game continues as normal, anyone not involved in the game including the scorer and captains must not say anything otherwise the back peg rule does not apply
  14. If a player knocks when they can go they must be back pegged 8 points as in rule 14 anyone not involved in the game including the scorer and captains must not say anything, if anyone does say anything once the offending player has already knocked than they must still be back pegged 8 points
  15. Players have the right to ask anyone stood watching around the table to move away, spectators must be silent and not mention anything relevant to the game being played, Domino captains can monitor the game being played
  16. All dominoes must be turned over and shown at the end of each hand
  17. No claiming penalties if a domino is played the wrong way round or at the wrong end
  18. Each player must call out their own score
  19. Strictly no talking over the tables
  20. If a team doesn’t have 10 players and therefore cannot complete the 5th game then the names of the other players can be placed in to a hat and drawn to make a 5th pairing to play the 5th game, the 5th pairing cannot be a pairing from a previous game and has such should be a new pairing that has not played together in the previous 4 games, this must be mentioned at the beginning of the night by the captain, the draw must take place at the mid-session interval, if this is not mentioned at the beginning of the night than the offending team without 10 players will forfeit the 5th game 61-60
  21. A Domino is not in play until it is released by the player

General Rules

  1. No games to be cancelled except in extremely bad weather or a bereavement of a team member only
  2. Should a team cancel a match for any other reason a penalty of 2 points will be deducted from darts tables and 2 points deducted from dominoes tables (4 points overall) will be applied the fixture must still be played before the end of the season if there are no spare Monday nights available then the game will have to be played on an alternative night the offending team will also have to pay a £20 fine to the opposing team for cost of snap (the offending team will be dealt with by the league, previous incidents have resulted in teams being expelled from the league)
  3. Teams should not re-arrange fixtures without informing the league secretary
  4. If a team is expelled or drops out of the league the following rules apply
    A – if it occurs during the first half of the season all points gained against that team will be deducted from the teams within that league/division
    B – if it occurs during the second half of the season points from the first half of the season still stand however points from the second half of the season will be deducted
  5. Any team found to be playing unregistered players will be deducted 10 points overall, 5 points from Darts and 5 points from Dominoes or could be expelled from the league the offending team will be dealt with by the league and punishment decided by vote at the following meeting
  6. Captain’s must sign the score booklet/sheet to verify they are happy with the result
  7. Immediately after the match the home team captain must message a picture of the results sheet/booklet with all names and scores in clear view to the WhatsApp group if they are not in by 12pm the next day then penalty points of 2 points per league 4 points overall will be awarded
  8. Meetings will take place on the first Wednesday of the month
  9. Any team not attending the monthly meeting will be fined £5 in the first instance, £10 in the second instance and a third non-attendance will result in a £15 fine and possible expulsion from the league
  10. Any team not attending the monthly meeting will also be deducted 4 points overall 2 points from darts and 2 points from dominoes 4 points overall, this rule is strictly adhered to as the league feel there are sufficient players in each team to send at least one delegate, in the case of a pub/club with 2 teams then both teams must be represented by their own delegate
  11. If a pub/club is closed for any reason then the home team have the right to play there matches at another venue
  12. All players must be 15 or over, all players aged 15, 16 and 17 must have permission from the pubs landlord or Wmc committee to be on the premises at least 24 hours before the game
  13. The league will respect any decision made as a result of rule 12
  14. A player may request a transfer before the halfway stage of the season providing he/she has not played Darts or Dominoes for his/her current team in that particular season, the league will require 48 hours’ notice prior to the match to check if the player has played
  15. New players can be registered up to the halfway stage of the season, registration forms will be handed out at the beginning of each season and must be handed back in fully signed with every team players name down at the halfway meeting, after this no new players may be registered
  16. The league will not tolerate any verbal or physical aggression towards any member or official, any disputes are to be brought up at the monthly meetings
  17. The league have the right to resolve any matter which is not covered by these rules as they see fit

Team Knockout Event

  1. The league will run a team knockout event each season, with ten points available at dominoes and 9 points available at darts
  2. Captains should toss a coin, the winner of the toss can elect to take the first drop at dominoes or the first off at darts, the opposition have the drop/off of the unchosen game
  3. Teams should try to at all times play 2 games of darts to 1 game of dominoes so not to try and gain an advantage
  4. Normal league rules apply
  5. Darts games are best of 3 legs of 501 and dominoes are 1 game of fives and threes 61 up
  6. The winning team will be the first team to score 10 points, it is the home teams responsibility to fill out score sheets and inform the results secretary of the result in the WhatsApp group

Darts Play offs

  1. At the end of the season the top 6 teams from each league will qualify for the play offs
  2. Top 2 teams will be seeded and qualify for Semi-finals, then 3rd place will play 6th place and 4th place will play 5th place to qualify for the Semi-finals
  3. The winning team will be the first to 5 points, aggregate is taken in to consideration if the game is drawn 4-4
  4. Teams must be at the venue no later than 8pm draw will take place at 8:15pm any team not here by that time will be scratched from the competition games to start no later than 8:30pm, any team who do not wish to enter the play offs should inform the league at least 1 week before the play offs so the league can offer the place to the next team down
  5. Normal league rules apply

Dominoes Play offs

  1. At the end of the season the top 6 teams from each league will qualify for the play offs
  2. Top 2 teams will be seeded and qualify for Semi-finals, then 3rd place will play 6th place and 4th place will play 5th place to qualify for the Semi-final
  3. The winning team will be the first to 6 points
  4. Teams must be at the venue no later than 8pm draw will take place at 8:15pm any team not here by that time will be scratched from the competition games to start no later than 8:30pm, any team who do not wish to enter the play offs should inform the league at least 1 week before the play offs so the league can offer the place to the next team down
  5. Normal league rules apply

Darts Individual Competition

  1. The draw will be made on the night at Westgate Common 8:15pm
  2. All players must register by 8pm and pay their £1 entry fee on the night
  3. Premier League players and Division 1 players will be separate competitions
  4. Games will be 501 best of 3 legs
  5. Last 4 from each competition will qualify for Finals night (4 players from Premier League and 4 Players from Division 1)
  6. Normal league rules apply
  7. Losing players MUST score the next game on their board or find a scorer to do it for them if they do not they will forfeit being able to enter the competition the following season

Darts Pairs Competition

  1. The draw will be made on the night at Westgate Common 8:15pm
  2. All players must register by 8pm and pay their £1 entry fee on the night
  3. Premier League players and Division 1 players will be separate competitions however a Division 1 player can partner a Premier League player but they will be entered in to the Premier League Competition
  4. Games will be 1 leg of 1001 for the first 2 rounds
  5. Last 4 from each competition will qualify for Finals night (4 players from Premier League and 4 Players from Division 1)
  6. Normal league rules apply
  7. A losing players MUST score the next game on their board or find a scorer to do it for them if they do not they will forfeit being able to enter the competition the following season

Dominoes Pairs Competition

  1. The draw will be made on the night at Westgate Common 8:15pm
  2. All players must register by 8pm and pay their £1 entry fee per person on the night
  3. Games will be one game of fives and threes 61 up
  4. The last 4 pairings will qualify for Finals Night
  5. Normal league rules apply
  6. Competition is open so players may partner a player from another team as long as that player is registered in the league

Highest Finishes/Best games

  1. The result for the highest checkout, best game, highest average, most wins etc. will not be decided until the full season has been completed, Play offs, Singles and Pairs competitions are not included
  2. Each division will have separate Trophies for highest checkout and best game in both darts and dominoes leagues

Finals Night

Darts

  1. Semi Finals and Final will be best of 3 legs 501 singles and best of 3 legs 1001 pairs

Dominoes

  1. Semi Finals and Final will be best of 3 legs

200 Club

  1. Each month the league will run a 200 club each team will be allocated 10 numbers which is covered by the £25 monthly meeting fee
  2. All teams must pay there £25 club money at every meeting whether their at the meeting or not, if a team is not at the meeting and their number is drawn then the draw will be remade even if they have paid in advance
  3. The league will pay out 4 prizes of £50 each month
  4. All winning will be paid out at the meeting
  5. Your team delegate will be asked to sign for the prize

Presentation Night

  1. Presentation night will be the last date of the season
